SBI PO 2025: Maximum and Minimum Age Requirements

(As of 01.04.2025): Candidates must be at least 21 years old and not exceed 30 years old as of 01.04.2025, meaning they should have been born no later than 01.04.2004 and no earlier than 02.04.1995 (both dates included). The following age relaxation applies to the upper age limit:

a) Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non-Creamy Layer) – 3
b) Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes (SC/ ST) – 5
c) Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)

  • PwBD (UR/ EWS) – 10
  • PwBD (OBC) – 13
  • PwBD (SC/ ST) – 15

d) Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/ Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have completed 5 years of military service and have been released upon completion of their assignment (including those whose assignment is set to conclude within one year from the last date of application receipt) other than through dismissal or discharge due to misconduct, inefficiency, physical disability related to military service, or invalidment. – 5

NOTE: Cumulative age relaxation will not be applicable under the aforementioned categories or in conjunction with any other categories. Candidates requesting age relaxation must provide copies of the required certificate(s) during the Group exercise/interview, if they are shortlisted. No changes to the category of any candidate will be allowed after the online application registration, and no correspondence via email or phone will be entertained regarding this matter.

SBI PO Recruitment 2025: Academic Eligibility Details

A degree in any field from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification acknowledged by the Central Government is required. Candidates who are in their final year or semester of graduation may apply provisionally, provided that if they are called for an interview, they must present evidence of having completed their graduation by 30.09.2025. Those with an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate must ensure that their IDD completion date is on or before 30.09.2025.

Additionally, candidates with qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, etc., are also eligible. Note: The eligibility date for passing the examination will be the date indicated on the mark sheet or provisional certificate issued by the University or Institute. If the result of a specific examination is published on the University or Institute’s website, a certificate from the relevant authority of the University or Institute stating the date the result was posted online will be considered the date of passing.

Preliminary -II Examination Pattern

The Main Examination will take place online and will include Objective tests worth 200 marks and a Descriptive test worth 50 marks. The Descriptive test will be held immediately following the completion of the Objective test, and candidates will be required to type their answers for the Descriptive test on the computer.

SBI Probationary Officers 2025: Exam Centers

i. The examinations will take place online at various venues throughout India. A provisional list of centres for the Online Examination is included as Annexure I.

ii. No requests for changes to the Examination Centre, Date, or Session will be considered.

iii. SBI retains the authority to cancel any examination centres and/or introduce additional centres at its discretion, based on factors such as response and administrative feasibility. Furthermore, SBI reserves the right to assign candidates to a centre different from their selected choice. The centres available for the Main Examination will be limited.

iv. Candidates will attend the examination at an Examination Centre at their own risk and expense, and SBI will not be liable for any injuries or losses of any kind.

v. Any disruptive behaviour or misconduct in the examination hall may lead to the cancellation of candidature or disqualification from current and future examinations conducted by SBI.

How to Apply for SBI PO Recruitment 2025

Candidates may submit their applications online exclusively from 24.06.2025 to 14.07.2025. No alternative application methods will be permitted.

PRE-REQUISITES FOR ONLINE APPLICATION: Candidates must possess a valid email ID and mobile number, which should remain active until the results are announced. This is essential for receiving any communications, call letters, or notifications from the Bank via email or SMS.

GUIDELINES FOR COMPLETING THE ONLINE APPLICATION: Candidates are required to register on the Bank’s ‘Career’ website at https://bank.sbi/web/careers/current-openings. Following registration, candidates must pay the necessary application fee through online methods such as debit card, credit card, Internet Banking, or UPI.
