Age Eligibility Criteria for KVS Admission 2026-27 for Balvatika and Class 1

The primary criterion for KVS admission is the applicant’s age. It’s crucial that the age of the applicant aligns with what is outlined in the KVS notification for the academic year 2026-27. Any variation, even by a single day, from the specified eligible age will result in the rejection of the online application. The KVS admission portal will automatically deny such applications! Therefore, it’s essential to thoroughly review the age requirements before submitting applications for Balvatika-3 and Class-1 at KV schools. The table provided below will assist you in comprehending the age criteria established by KVS.

Important: The age cut-off date is 1 April 2026. Any deviation—even by a single day—from the specified age limits will result in automatic rejection of the online application.

This will result in the final selection list of candidates, along with a waiting list.

How to Get Admission in KV School 2026-27?

Gaining admission to a KV school isn’t a matter of shortcuts! The best approach is to promptly register your child on the official KVS portal. Each school will utilize a Lottery Draw system to determine admissions on behalf of the parents. This entire process will be broadcast live on their YouTube channel, ensuring complete transparency in selecting candidates for Class 1 or Balvatika-3. Be sure to register your child for multiple KV schools in your vicinity, but remember, you can’t submit multiple applications for the same school. Nowadays in India, quality education can be quite expensive; however, KVS offers excellent education from Nursery through 12th grade without hefty fees.

Revised Guidelines of KVS Admission 2026-27

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has released a new set of admission guidelines for all KV schools, available in PDF format for each academic year. This document is divided into three sections: Part A covers General Guidelines, Part B discusses Special Provisions, and Part C outlines the Admission Procedure.

It is crucial for every parent to be aware that the special provision allowing MP recommendations for 10 candidates has been completely eliminated by KVS. This PDF serves as a valuable resource for addressing any questions regarding admissions for the current year, including details about age limits, the eligible birth dates for children, the distance from your home to the KV school, and the process for conducting the draw of lots for student selection.
