TN RTE 25% Private School Admission List 2025-26 Notification: The TN Ministry of Education has recently released the official notification for RTE 25% admissions (Click here to view the Press Release). This notification provides complete details on the LKG and Class 1 admission process for the academic year 2025–26 under the RTE Act, specifically for disadvantaged children seeking admission in aided and non-aided private schools across Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu RTE 25% Admission for LKG and Class 1 in 2025–26 Starting 9.10.2025

Parents are increasingly confused about the RTE 25% admission process for LKG and Class 1 in Tamil Nadu for the academic year 2025–26. Although admissions for this year were completed and schools have already started in June, questions are arising about how new admissions for entry-level classes can be conducted now in private schools. Most parents have already paid all types of fees, including donations, so how can seats be allocated again at the same schools? Additionally, if a child is admitted to a different private school under RTE, how will the previously paid fees be refunded? Many such questions remain unanswered, and the Ministry of School Education has not provided any clarifications.

TN RTE 25% Entry Class Admission 2025–26 Registration: Official Website Still Not Accessible

Parents are eagerly waiting to register their children under the TN RTE 25% admission scheme for entry-level classes, but the official website is still not opening. Many parents have questions about how to apply, which documents are required, which schools are eligible, the number of schools under the RTE Act, and the age criteria. Unfortunately, there has been no response from the Education Ministry so far.

Adding to the concern, the application window is very short—only four days are provided to submit forms online through the admission portal. This raises practical challenges, as many parents, especially from economically weaker backgrounds, are not familiar with online application processes or how to upload documents from a laptop or desktop. Furthermore, not all households have access to these devices. The Ministry must urgently take steps to educate and assist parents well in advance through its official website.

TN RTE 25% Process of Admission in Private Schools

Reservation and Coverage: 25% reservation in entry-level classes (LKG / Class I) of all unaided non-minority private schools. Admissions will be conducted strictly according to the RTE Act, 2009 and Tamil Nadu RTE Rules, 2011. Admissions will be conducted online through the official RTE portal.

Fee Refund and Compliance: Schools shall not collect any tuition or admission fees from RTE-eligible children. Any fees already collected must be refunded within 7 working days, with confirmation from both the school and parents.

Priority Given in Admission: For this academic year, the process focuses on children already admitted in entry-level classes of the schools. A special 10-day online window is scheduled to regularize eligible children admitted under the RTE quota. Admission priority is given to children belonging to:

      • Orphans
      • HIV-affected or infected children
      • Transgender children
      • Children of scavengers
      • Differently-abled children

Monitoring and Grievance Redressal: District-level Monitoring Committees, headed by Chief Educational Officers (CEOs), will oversee the process. A dedicated helpline and email support are available for grievance redressal and technical assistance.

Commitment to Equity and Access: The Government of Tamil Nadu reaffirms its commitment to ensuring every child’s constitutional right to free and compulsory education. The RTE admission process for 2025–26 will be transparent, equitable, and child-centric across the State.
