Bihar Gyandeep RTE Admission 2026-27: The Bihar Education Department has released the official RTE (Right to Education) Admission Notification for 2026–27. As per the RTE Act 2009 (Section 12(1)(c)), 25% seats in private schools are reserved for children belonging to economically weaker and disadvantaged groups. The admissions will be conducted online through the “Gyan Deep Portal”.

Eligibility Criteria for Bihar RTE Admission 2026–27
1. Disadvantaged Group (अल्पसंख्यक / सुविधाविहीन समूह)
Child must belong to any one of the following categories AND have a family annual income up to ₹1,00,000:
- Scheduled Castes (SC)
- Scheduled Tribes (ST)
- Backward Classes (BC)
- Extremely Backward Classes (EBC)
- Transgender community
- Minority communities (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, etc.)
2. Weaker Section (कमज़ोर वर्ग)
Applies to children from any caste or community whose parents’/guardians’ annual income is below ₹2,00,000.
No caste certificate required—only valid income proof.
3. Orphan Children (अनाथ बच्चे)
Children without living parents or legal guardians are eligible regardless of caste or income.
Must submit documentation from:
- Child Welfare Committee (CWC), or
- A registered orphanage/shelter home recognized by the government.
Important: All applicants must provide valid documents (income certificate, birth proof, address proof, etc.). False information may lead to disqualification and legal action. Admissions are for age group 6–14 years as per RTE norms.
Age Eligibility
The child must be at least 6 years old as of 1 April 2026.
2 April 2018 to 1 April 2020 (both dates inclusive)
Required Documents
- Proof of Age: Birth Certificate / Hospital Record / Nursing Home Slip / Anganwadi Record / Parent Declaration
- Caste Certificate: Mandatory for SC/ST/BC/EBC/Minority applicants (not required for orphans)
- Income Certificate: Issued by BDO/CO (not required for orphans)
- Residential Proof: Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, Rent Agreement, Electricity Bill, etc.
- Parent/Guardian ID Proof
- Child’s Passport-size Photo (max 50 KB)
- Parent’s Mobile Number (active and registered)
If Aadhaar is not available, submit an Undertaking Certificate.
Online Application Process (via Gyan Deep Portal)
- Primary Registration: Register using parent/guardian mobile number.
- Aadhaar Verification: Mandatory biometric or OTP-based authentication of parent/guardian Aadhaar. Child’s Aadhaar is optional at registration but must be submitted later as per school norms.
- USER ID Generation: A unique USER ID will be sent via SMS to the registered mobile number.
- Form Filling & Document Upload: Log in with the USER ID and complete the application with all required details and scanned documents.
⚠️ Only applications with final submission after verification will be considered valid.
School Selection & Priority Rules
After form submission, parents can select up to five (5) nearby private schools within their block.
Admission priority is determined by distance from the school:
