Why This Change Has Been Implemented

The restructuring aligns Delhi’s education system with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which introduces a 5-year Foundational Stage (3 years of pre-school + Classes 1 and 2) to strengthen early childhood learning. Uniform entry at 6+ years for Class 1 ensures cognitive readiness and national-level consistency.
