This schedule applies only to Open Seats, excluding EWS/DG/CWSN category seats, and outlines all key dates from the start of the admission process to its closure.

The admission process is governed and monitored by the Private School Branch, Directorate of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi, ensuring transparency, fairness, and uniformity across all private unaided recognized schools.
Application Process and Fee
Forms: Application forms should be accessible to all applicants until the final submission date, which is 27.12.2025. Registration Fee: Educational institutions may only impose a fee of Rs. 25/- (Non-refundable) for the admission registration. Prospectus: Acquiring a school’s prospectus is at the discretion of parents, and schools are prohibited from compelling parents to purchase it or imposing any processing fees.
Criteria for Open Seats and Transparency
- Private Unaided Recognized Schools are required to establish an admission procedure and criteria that are fair, reasonable, and transparent.
- Uploading Criteria: Schools are obligated to upload their admission criteria along with the points allocated to each criterion on both the DoE website and their own website by 28.11.2025 (Friday). This information will be accessible for public viewing.
- Draw of Lots: In the event that a draw of lots is held, it must be conducted transparently in the presence of parents, recorded via videography, and parents must be notified at least two days in advance.
Proof of Residence Documents
The documents listed below serve as potential Proof of Residence for the parents or child:
- Ration Card or Smart Card issued in the name of the parents, which includes the child’s name.
- Domicile certificate belonging to the child or their parents.
- Voter ID Card (EPIC) of either parent.
- Utility bills such as electricity, MTNL telephone, water, or a passport registered in the name of either parent or the child.
- Aadhaar Card or UID card issued in the name of any parent.
Restrictions for Schools
Capitation Fee/Donation: It is strictly forbidden for schools to collect any Capitation Fee or Donation from parents during the admission process of a child. Any violation of this rule may result in a penalty of up to ten times the amount of the capitation fee charged.
Abolished Criteria: Schools are not permitted to implement criteria that have been abolished by the Directorate of Education and confirmed by the Hon’ble High Court (as noted in Annexure-2 & 3 of the notification).
Age Eligibility for Entry Level Classes
The age requirements for admission, including the Minimum and Maximum Age for all classes as of 31st March 2026, are outlined below:

Relaxation: The Head of School has the authority to grant an age relaxation of up to one month for both the minimum and maximum age limits. Parents are required to submit a manual application to the Principal for this request.
What about EWS/DG/CWSN Admissions?
Educational institutions are required to allocate 25% of their seats for students belonging to the EWS/DG category and those with disabilities.
The admission procedure for students in the EWS/DG/CWSN free-ship category will not be conducted manually; instead, the department will implement a computerized lottery system.
