Gujarat RTE Online Application Date Extended for AY 2025-26
In light of the revised Annual Income threshold for RTE applications in Gujarat, parents of children whose annual income is Rs. 6 lakh or below can now submit their applications online until Tuesday, April 15, 2025. Gujarat Annual Income Limit Revised for 2025-26
The Gujarat government has implemented a significant change regarding the minimum annual income requirement for applications under the Right to Education (RTE) quota in private schools for the academic year 2025-26. For children belonging to categories 8, 9, 11, 12, and 13, the previous income thresholds of Rs. 1.20 lakh in rural areas and Rs. 1.50 lakh in urban areas have been raised to Rs. 6 lakh for both regions. This adjustment has been approved by the Education Department, as indicated in their letter dated March 13, 2025. Document Requirements for Gujarat RTE Admission 2025-26
- Proof of Residence: Acceptable documents include Aadhaar Card, Passport, Electricity Bill, Water Bill, Election Card, or Ration Card. If any of these documents are provided, a registered rent agreement is not necessary.
- Birth Certificate: This can be obtained from the Gram Panchayat, Municipal Municipality, Municipal Corporation, or through a Birth/Hospital Registration Certificate. Additionally, a registration certificate from Anganwadi or Balwadi, or a notarized affidavit from parents or guardians is acceptable.
- Guardian’s Income Certificate: An income certificate issued by the Mamlatdar or Taluka Development Officer is required. Certificates issued by the Talati of E-Gram Panchayat at the village level will also be accepted, provided they are dated after 01/04/2022.
- Single Girl Child: Documentation must include verification from a Talati-cum-Minister for rural areas, a Chief Officer for municipal areas, or a Competent Officer for municipal areas confirming the status of having only one girl child.
Who is eligible to apply for Gujarat RTE admission for the academic year 2025-26?
