IIT Kharagpur Scholarship
IIT Kharagpur provides a diverse range of scholarships to support students from various backgrounds, available to both undergraduate and postgraduate learners. These scholarships are awarded based on merit, financial need, or a combination of both criteria.
Undergraduate scholarships are offered through multiple sources, including Central Government Ministries and Organizations, State Governments and Union Territories, Public Sector Units, reputed Private Companies, Foreign Corporations, and the institute’s own Endowment Fund.
Some notable scholarships at IIT Kharagpur include the Batch of ’85 Scholarship, which grants INR 50,000; the Madan Sundar Sahu Memorial Scholarship, providing INR 2,100 monthly; a monthly scholarship of INR 1,000 for the top final-year BTech (Hons.)/Dual Degree/BArch (Hons) student; and another INR 1,000 monthly scholarship for the best third-year BTech student.

IIT Kharagpur Placement
The second phase of IIT Kharagpur’s 2024 placement drive was conducted from the first week of January through April. According to media reports, the institute secured over 700 job offers, including pre-placement offers (PPOs), spanning diverse sectors such as software, analytics, finance, banking, consulting, and core engineering.
Notably, more than 19 students received international job offers, with a total of 121 unique profiles offered. Six students achieved exceptional annual CTCs exceeding INR 1 Crore.
The placement season saw participation from over 61 companies, with leading recruiters including Apple, Capital One, DE Shaw, Google, Microsoft, McKinsey, and Databricks. In 2023, the highest package offered at IIT Kharagpur was an impressive INR 2.6 Crore per annum.
