The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) Headquarters announced today, March 20, 2025, that the deadline for online registration for Balvatika classes has been extended to March 24, 2025, at 10 PM, instead of the previously set date of March 21, 2024.
Balvatika 1 and Balvatika 3 Admission in Kendriya Vidyalaya 2025-26
Anganwadi and Balwadi serve as safe environments for children to engage in play and learning activities. The term “Balvatika” is likely derived from these concepts. Balvatika refers to the classes designed for pre-primary education or basic play schools, catering to children aged between 3 and 6 years.
Following the introduction of the NEP 2020, Kendriya Vidyalaya initiated Balvatika classes in designated schools. Balvatika-1 corresponds to Pre-Kindergarten, Balvatika-2 aligns with Lower Kindergarten, and Balvatika-3 is equivalent to Upper Kindergarten. The minimum age requirements for enrollment in Balvatika-1, Balvatika-2, and Balvatika-3 are 3, 4, and 5 years, respectively.

KVS Admission for Pre-KG LKG UKG in 2025-26: In Kendriya Vidyalaya the classes of Pre-KG (Pre Kindergarten, LKG (Lower Kindergarten) and UKG (Upper Kindergarten) are represented as Balvatika-1, Balvatika-2 and Balvatika-3. The headquarter of KVS has started in 2021 to start Balvatika-3 classes in particular KV schools for train basis. then it will be extended and now over 400 KV schools are running with Balvatika classes. Still the process being extended of three classes before class 1 are started in all KV schools.

Pre-KG to UKG Admission 2025-26 Process in Kendriya Vidyalaya
The admission process for Pre-KG to UKG for the academic year 2025-26 in Kendriya Vidyalaya differs from that of Class 1 and other grades. This distinction arises because the Balvatika classes, which encompass grades 1 to 3, are not fully operational in all Kendriya Vidyalaya institutions at this time. Currently, fewer than 40% of these schools offer any of the Balvatika sections, and only a limited number operate all three Balvatika classes.
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has announced the commencement of online registration for Balvatika-3 admissions in select schools. Conversely, the admission process for Balvatika-1 will be conducted through offline methods.
