Eligibility Criteria for RRB Recruitment 2025
The eligibility of candidates will be regarded as provisional, contingent upon the information provided by the candidates in the Online application. The RRB will not perform a thorough examination of applications regarding eligibility; thus, candidature will be accepted solely on a provisional basis, subject to meeting the fundamental eligibility criteria as stipulated. Candidates are required to review the prerequisites concerning educational qualifications, age, medical standards, etc., and ensure that they meet the eligibility requirements for the position.
Following the examination of the certificates/documents related to Educational Qualifications, age, caste, category, etc., if any claims made in the application are not supported by the necessary certificates/documents, the candidate’s candidature will be annulled.
Moreover, at any point during the recruitment process or even afterward, if it is discovered that any information provided by the candidate is false or incorrect, or if the candidate has concealed any pertinent information, or if the candidate fails to meet the eligibility criteria for the position, their candidature will be immediately rejected.

Comprehensive Guidelines for RRB Recruitment 2025
Provisional Admission: All stages of recruitment are provisional and contingent upon candidates satisfying all eligibility criteria.
Eligibility Check Before Applying:
- Verify that you meet all eligibility requirements, including age, educational qualifications, and medical standards.
- Candidates must hold the necessary technical qualifications from accredited institutions by the application closing date.
- Candidates who are awaiting final examination results are ineligible and should refrain from applying.
Multiple Applications:
- Submitting more than one application for the same pay level will result in rejection and disqualification from all future RRB/RRC examinations.
- Submitting multiple applications with slight modifications (to different RRBs or the same RRB) will also result in rejection and disqualification.
- Debarred Candidates: Candidates who are currently debarred by any RRB/RRC should not submit an application. Such applications will be rejected at any point in the process.
- Dismissed Candidates: Individuals who have been dismissed from service by the Government of India, State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, or other government organizations are not eligible.
Correct Details in Application:
- Provide your Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, and Date of Birth exactly as they appear on your SSC/Matriculation/10th certificate.
- If there has been a name change, include both the old and new names along with supporting documents (e.g., Gazette Notification + Photo ID) during the CBT/Document Verification.
Photograph & Signature Upload:
- Upload a current image and your own signature according to the specified guidelines.
- Blurred, unclear, or non-standard photographs/signatures may result in rejection.
- Signature Uniformity: Your signature must remain consistent throughout all stages of the recruitment process.
Exam Schedule and E-call Letters:
- The dates for CBT and Document Verification (DV) will be published on the RRB websites.
- E-call letters should only be downloaded from the official RRB websites.
- Requests for changes in exam date, time, or venue will not be considered.
Vacancy Updates:
- The number of vacancies may increase, decrease, or be reduced to NIL depending on the requirements of the Railway Administration.
- Additional positions or tests (CBT/DV) may be added without prior notice.
Vacancy Cancellation:

Educational Requirements for RRB Recruitment 2025
(a) Refer to Annexure A for the prescribed qualifications required for each post.
(b) Candidates must possess the required Educational/Technical qualifications from a recognized Institute/University as on the last date of online application submission (i.e., 28.07.2025).
(c) Candidates awaiting results of their final examination of the prescribed qualification SHOULD NOT apply.
(d) Diploma/Degree in Engineering will NOT be accepted in place of:
- Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA) or
- ITI qualification for Technician posts in Pay Level-2, unless otherwise specified.
- Graduate Act Apprenticeship is not valid in lieu of CCAA.
- The Educational/Technical Qualification certificates (Provisional or Regular) must contain the date of issue.
- If the date of issue is after the closing date (28.07.2025), then:
- Submit consolidated mark sheet showing date of declaration of final qualifying exam, or
- Individual mark sheets of all semesters/years showing date of declaration for each.
- If the date is not mentioned in any certificate, a certificate from the Board/University stating the date of result declaration must be produced during Document Verification (DV).

Verification Documents for RRB Recruitment 2025
- Candidates will be selected for Document Verification based on their scores and merit in the CBT corresponding to the respective Pay Levels.
- The quantity of candidates selected will correspond to the number of available positions.
- In instances where two or more candidates achieve identical scores, the candidate who is older in age will be accorded higher merit.
- The final appointment is contingent upon the candidate successfully passing a Medical Fitness Test administered by the Railway Administration, in addition to the verification of documents and character or antecedents.
- Should there be a shortfall in empanelment or any other necessity, RRBs may take into account candidates further down the merit list, based on their merit and preferences.
- However, this does not ensure appointment for those candidates.
- RRBs are solely responsible for recommending the names of selected candidates to the respective Railway Administrations.
- The issuance of appointment offers is exclusively the responsibility of the relevant Railway Administrations.
How to Submit an Application for the RRB Recruitment 2025
Candidates are required to thoroughly review all information and instructions provided in the detailed CEN prior to completing the ONLINE application to avoid errors.
Establishing an Account with RRBs
- Candidates must initially create an account for this CEN by utilizing the link available on the official RRB websites.
- As outlined in Para 16.0 below, candidates who have previously established an account for earlier RRB CENs should utilize the same login credentials to apply for this CEN, also using the link provided on the official RRB websites.
- A valid personal mobile number and an active email ID are essential for receiving the OTPs necessary during the account creation process.
- No modifications will be permitted to the information entered in the “Create an Account” form afterward, including the mobile number and email ID.
- Consequently, candidates are strongly encouraged to input all information with care and precision, as no corrections or alterations will be allowed post account creation.
Identity Authentication Advisory
- Candidates are strongly urged, in their own best interest, to verify their identity using DigiLocker or Aadhaar during the “Create an Account” procedure.
- This will ensure a more efficient and expedited verification process at various stages of recruitment.
- It is important to note that applicants opting to verify their identity through alternative Photo IDs will face significantly more stringent and detailed scrutiny at every phase of the recruitment process.
General Guidelines for submission of Online applications
a) Candidates are required to utilize only the link provided on the official RRB websites for submitting their applications in response to this CEN. It is essential to thoroughly read all the information and instructions outlined in the detailed CEN prior to completing the Online application.
b) Candidates are obligated to accurately complete the ONLINE application form and verify the information before submission.
c) Once the application has been submitted, the applicant will not have the opportunity to make any corrections to the Online application.
d) Examination Medium: The questions for the CBT will be available in English, Hindi, and 13 regional Indian languages (namely, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu). Therefore, candidates must select their preferred medium of examination from the options provided in the ONLINE application form. The CBT questions will be presented in the chosen language as well as in English.
e) Separate Application for Each Pay Level: A distinct application must be submitted for each Pay Level, as separate CBTs (Computer Based Tests) will be administered for each Pay Level specified under this CEN. The corresponding Examination Fee must be paid individually for each Pay Level.
f) Select Only One RRB for Each Pay Level
- Each applicant is required to select a single RRB corresponding to each specific Pay Level.
- Only one unified ONLINE application should be submitted for that Pay Level, utilizing the link available on the official RRB websites (see Para 16.0 below).
- Once an application is submitted, the selected RRB will be deemed final for that Pay Level.
- Submitting applications to multiple RRBs for the same Pay Level will lead to the rejection of all applications for that Pay Level and exclusion from the recruitment process.
- Order of Post Preferences under the selected RRB.
- The applicant must indicate their order of preference for any or all of the advertised posts under the chosen Pay Level, based on the posts for which they are eligible and interested.
- Following the submission of the application, the candidate will be prompted to select the method of payment for the examination fee as detailed in para 7.1 and complete the payment procedure.
Important: It is crucial to verify the authenticity of the payment method as well as the deadline for the payment of the application fee for the submitted applications related to this CEN. When making payments, please refrain from using unauthorized websites. i) Ultimately, the acceptance of the ONLINE application will occur only after the confirmation of fee payment is received. The applicant will receive a confirmation of successful payment ONLINE via email and SMS.
g) Order of Post Preferences under the selected RRB
The applicant must indicate their order of preference for any or all of the advertised posts under the chosen Pay Level, based on the posts for which they are eligible and interested.
h) After the application has been submitted, the candidate will be directed to select the payment method for the examination fee as outlined in para 7.1 and complete the payment process.
Important: It is essential to be vigilant regarding the authenticity of the payment method as well as the deadline for the application fee payment for the submitted applications related to this CEN. When making payments, please avoid unauthorized websites.
Alteration of Submitted Application Information in RRB
Upon completing the Online application and successfully remitting the required fee, candidates who wish to alter any information (excluding the details provided in the ‘Create an Account’ form and the selected RRB) may do so by paying a non-refundable modification fee of ₹250 for each change.
- The information entered in the ‘Create an Account’ form and the ‘Chosen RRB’ is immutable under any circumstances.
- The modification period will be available from 01-08-2025 to 10-08-2025.
Requests for modifications will not be entertained after 10-08-2025. - Candidates are encouraged to meticulously verify all details prior to the deadline.
