Age Criteria for the SSC CHSL Exam
The age limit for candidates applying for the specified posts is set between 18 to 27 years, with the crucial date for age reckoning being January 1, 2026, as per the Department of Personnel and Training (DoP&T) guidelines. Eligible candidates must be born between January 2, 1999, and January 1, 2008. Reservation Policy and PwBD Suitability
Reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, ESM, and PwBD candidates will be as per the rules and instructions issued by the concerned Ministries/Departments. The Commission selects candidates based on vacancies reported by these authorities and does not decide the number of vacancies. The implementation of reservation policies, including identification of posts suitable for benchmark disabilities, lies with the respective Indenting Ministries/Departments. Educational Qualification SSC CHSL 2025
- For the positions of DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ in designated ministries such as Consumer Affairs, Culture, and SSC, candidates are required to have completed the 12th standard in the Science stream with Mathematics from a recognized board.
- For roles such as LDC, JSA, and other DEO positions, candidates must possess a 12th standard pass or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or university.
- Candidates who are currently taking the 12th exam are also eligible to apply, provided they obtain the necessary qualification by the cutoff date, which is 01.01.2026.
- Degrees acquired through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) are considered valid only if they have received approval from the Distance Education Bureau (DEB) of the UGC for the relevant period.
- Candidates holding ODL degrees are required to present proof of DEB approval during the document verification process.
- According to UGC regulations established in 2017, ODL mode is not permitted for programs in fields such as engineering, medicine, and pharmacy.
- B.Tech degrees from IGNOU for students who enrolled up to the academic year 2009–10 are recognized as valid, in accordance with a Supreme Court ruling.
- During the document verification stage, candidates must present their original 12th certificates or mark sheets to validate their qualifications by the cutoff date.
- The results of the qualifying examination must be officially announced by 01.01.2026; merely having a processing status is insufficient.
- Candidates with equivalent qualifications are required to submit a valid equivalence certificate; the final determination rests with the appointing authority.
How to Fill the SSC CHSL 2025 Online Application Form
Part-A (One-Time Registration):
1. It is crucial to carefully review the instructions provided in the Notice of Examination before filling out the online ‘One-time Registration Form’ and the ‘Application Form’.
2. Aadhaar Based Authentication has been implemented for the current Examination. All candidates have the option to authenticate their identity using their Aadhaar Number during the One-Time Registration (OTR) process, while completing the online application form for the examination. Candidates who choose not to authenticate through the Aadhaar Based system must upload the necessary documents to complete their One-Time Registration (OTR).
3. Prior to commencing the One-time Registration, please ensure that you have the following information/documents ready:
(a) Mobile Number (to be verified through OTP).
(b) Email 1ID (to be verified through OTP).
(c) Aadhaar Card Number.
If you do not have an Aadhaar Number, please provide one of the following Identity numbers. (You will be required to present the original document at a later stage):
(i) Voter Identity Card

How to Apply an application for the SSC CHSL Exam 2025
- Apply Online Only: Applications must be submitted exclusively at https://ssc.gov.in or through ‘my SSC’ mobile app (available on Google Play Store).
New One-Time Registration (OTR) Required:
- OTR on the old site (ssc.nic.in) is not valid.
- Generate a new OTR on ssc.gov.in before applying.
- This OTR will be valid for all future exams on the new website.
Aadhaar-Based Authentication (Recommended):
- Preferred for smoother verification.
- Candidates opting for Aadhaar authentication won’t be rejected due to photo/signature issues.
- No need to bring physical photo ID or recent photo to the exam center.
Live Photo Capture Instructions (No Pre-existing Photo Required):
- Use a place with good lighting and a plain background.
- Face camera directly, at eye level.
- No cap, mask, or spectacles allowed.
- Ensure full face within frame, clear and visible.
Photo/Signature Guidelines:
- Only live-captured photos allowed (no uploading existing photos).
- Signature must be in JPEG/JPG format (10–20 KB), size approx. 6.0 cm x 2.0 cm.
- Applications with blurred, miniature, or incorrect photos/signatures will be rejected — except Aadhaar-authenticated ones.
PwD Candidates:
- Upload disability certificate as per applicable Annexures (I, IA, XI–XIV) to avail scribe/compensatory time/reservation.
Deadline:
- Last date to apply: 18-07-2025 (11:00 PM).
- Apply well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.
- SSC will not be responsible for submission failures due to heavy traffic or other reasons.
