Scheme of Examination in SSC JE Job
- The Computer-Based Examination will consist of two papers, each conducted online.
Paper-I includes:
- General Intelligence and Reasoning: 50 Questions / 50 Marks
- General Awareness: 50 Questions / 50 Marks
- General Engineering (choose one: Civil & Structural / Electrical / Mechanical): 100 Questions / 100 Marks
- Total Duration: 2 hours (2 hours 40 minutes for candidates eligible for scribe as per Para 9.1 to 9.3)
Paper-II includes:
- General Engineering (choose one: Civil & Structural / Electrical / Mechanical): 100 Questions / 300 Marks

How to Apply and Online Application Form Fee
- All candidates must complete One-Time Registration (OTR) at ssc.gov.in.
- OTR from the old website (ssc.nic.in) is not valid on the new website.
- After OTR on the new website, candidates can fill out the Online Application Form.
- OTR done once on the new site remains valid for all future exams.
- Application Form must be submitted online via ssc.gov.in or the ‘mySSC’ mobile app.
- Detailed instructions are in Annexure-III and IV; mobile app notice dated 02.06.2025 also applies.
- Sample OTR and Application Forms are in Annexure-IIIA and Annexure-IVA.
- Aadhaar-Based Authentication is advised during the OTR process.
- Aadhaar-authenticated candidates won’t be rejected for incorrect photo/signature uploads.
- Such candidates don’t need to carry recent photos or original photo-ID to the exam.
- Pre-existing photograph is not required for the application.
- Application captures real-time photo using the device camera.
- Stand/sit with proper lighting and plain background.
- Keep the camera at eye level, look straight, and ensure full face visibility.
- Face must fit entirely in the frame; not too close or far.
- Do not wear cap, mask, or spectacles while capturing the photo.
- Candidate’s appearance in the exam must match the captured photo.
- Blurred or incorrect photographs will lead to rejection unless Aadhaar Authentication is used.
- Upload only a live photo, not a picture of a photo.
- Applications with reused photo images will be rejected unless Aadhaar-authenticated.
- Signature must be scanned in JPEG format, 10–20 KB.
- Signature size should be approx. 6.0 cm (width) × 2.0 cm (height).
- Blurred or improper signature images will lead to rejection unless Aadhaar-authenticated.
- PwBD and PwD candidates must upload the appropriate Disability Certificate.
- Last date for submission of the Online Application Form is 21.07.2025 (11:00 PM).
- Submit applications well before the deadline to avoid technical issues.
- SSC is not responsible for late applications due to website/server problems.
- Use the Preview/Print option to verify all details before final submission.
- Ensure photo and signature meet specified requirements.
- Keep a printed or saved copy of the submitted application.
- Application fee is ₹100.
- Fee is exempt for women, SC, ST, PwBD, and eligible Ex-Servicemen.
- Fee must be paid online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Debit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, RuPay).
- Last date to pay fee online is 22.07.2025 (11:00 PM).
- Confirm payment success in the ‘Payment Status’ section of your login.
- Incomplete forms due to unpaid fees will be summarily rejected.
- No requests for fee acceptance after deadline will be entertained.
- Fee once paid is non-refundable and non-transferable to other exams.
Age Limit for SSC JE 2025
The essential date for determining age is established as 01-01-2026, in compliance with the stipulations of the DoP&T OM No. 14017/70/87-Estt.(RR) dated 14.07.1988. Requirement of Age for the Posts is as follows: –

Resolution of Tie Cases
In situations where multiple candidates achieve the same total marks in Paper-I and Paper-II, the tie will be resolved by sequentially applying the following methods until the tie is broken:
(i) Total marks obtained in Paper-II.
(ii) Marks received in Part (i) of Paper-I.
(iii) Marks obtained in Part (ii) of Paper-I.
(iv) Date of birth, with older candidates ranked higher.
(v) Alphabetical order of the candidates’ names.
Age Relaxation for SSC JE 2025
The allowable relaxation of the upper age limit specified in Para 7.1 above is in compliance with the regulations outlined in DoP&T OM No. 15012/2/2010-Estt.(D) dated 27.03.2012

Final Decision of the Commission
The Commission’s decision regarding all aspects of eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the Online Application Form, penalties for providing false information, selection procedures, administration of Examination(s), assignment of Examination centres, and the selection and allocation of posts/organizations to successful candidates shall be conclusive and obligatory for the candidates, and no inquiries or correspondence will be considered in this matter.
Procedure For Filling in Online Application Form
- Read the instructions in the Examination Notice before filling the OTR and Application Form.
- Aadhaar-Based Authentication is recommended during the OTR process.
- Candidates using Aadhaar Authentication won’t be rejected for photo/signature issues.
- Such candidates don’t need to show photo-ID or recent photo at the exam venue.
- Aadhaar Authentication is optional; candidates not using it must upload prescribed ID documents.
Keep these ready before OTR:
- Mobile Number (OTP verified)
- Email ID (OTP verified)
- Aadhaar or alternate ID (Voter ID, PAN, Passport, DL, School/College ID, Employer ID)
- 10th Class Board, Roll No., and Year
- Disability Certificate Number (if applicable)
- Visit ssc.gov.in and click ‘Register Now’ under ‘Login or Register’.
- OTR process includes: Personal Details, Password Creation, Additional Details, Declaration.
- Key fields (like Aadhaar, name, DOB, parents’ names) must be entered twice for verification.
- Mismatch in fields will be shown in red for correction.
- Aadhaar Number to be provided at S. No. 1; if unavailable, upload proof documents.
Proof documents include:
- Name: Voter ID, PAN, DL, Govt ID
- DOB: Birth Certificate, School Leaving Certificate
- Address: Voter ID, DL, Bank Statement, Rent Agreement
- Photo
- Gender: Voter ID, Birth Certificate, School Leaving Certificate
- Enter name as in 10th certificate.
- Mention name change details (if any) after 10th.
- Select Gender (Male/Female/Transgender).
- Enter DOB as per 10th certificate.
- Enter Father’s name as per 10th certificate.
- Enter Mother’s name as per 10th certificate.
- Provide 10th Exam Board, Roll No., and Year.
- Mention highest educational qualification.
- Provide working mobile number (OTP verified).
- Provide working email ID (OTP verified).
- After saving details, verify mobile and email to get Registration Number.
- Registration Number and Password will be sent via SMS and email.
- Complete registration within 14 days or it will be deleted.
- Log in using Registration Number and received password.
- Change password on first login.
- Re-login using new password.
- Review or edit your basic details and click “Next” to continue registration.
