Latest Update on Karnataka RTE Admission 2025-26: The age requirement for enrollment in Class 1 has been adjusted. Children who turn 6 years old by June 1 of the academic year can now be admitted. Additionally, those who have completed pre-primary education and are at least 5 years and 5 months old as of June 1 are also eligible for admission to Class 1 for the academic year 2025-26. Consequently, children meeting this age criterion can apply for admission under the RTE for the year 2025-26. How to Submit an Online Application for Karnataka RTE Admission 2025-26

Step 3: Upon clicking the link, you will be taken to a new webpage that features the online application form, which is available for both those with and without an Aadhaar card.

Step 4: If your child possesses an Aadhaar card, the application form can be completed with a few straightforward steps through the e-KYC Service. If your child does not have an Aadhaar card, you will need to provide all relevant details about the child.

Step 4: Ensure that all necessary information is filled out correctly before submitting the application form. Additionally, please upload a photo and your Aadhaar card in JPG format.

Step 5: There is no need to upload any documents with the application; you will need to present the original documents during the admission process.

The Karnataka Education Department released guidelines for RTE admissions for the academic year 2025-26 on March 25, 2025. Subsequently, the initial list of nearby government, aided, and unaided schools was made public on March 28, 2025. Any objections concerning the neighborhood schools must be submitted by April 4, 2025. Following this, the final list of neighborhood schools for LKG and Class 1, along with the available seats in unaided schools, will be published. All schools are required to reserve 25% of the available seats, and this information will be made available on the district website as well as on the notice boards of all relevant offices.

The Government of Karnataka has made a commendable decision to open the online registration portal for a trial period from April 9th to April 11th, 2025. Age Criteria in Karnataka RTE Admission 2025-26

In accordance with the suggestions put forth by the State Education Policy Committee, the Karnataka government has resolved to lower the age requirement for Class 1 admission to 5.5 years for the academic year 2025-26. Starting from the next academic year, the minimum age for Class 1 will be established at 6 years. Previously, the minimum age for admission was set at 5.5 years. It is important to note that this adjustment to the minimum age was enacted in July 2022.

For admission to the LKG class, the minimum age is set at 4 years, while the maximum age is 6 years. In the case of Class 1, the minimum age is 6 years, and the maximum age is 8 years. Applications from children should adhere to these age specifications.

For applicants of the LKG class born between June 1, 2019, and June 1, 2021, and for children entering Class 1 born between June 1, 2017, and June 1, 2019.
