Uttar Pradesh Home Guard Recruitment 2025: The Home Guards Organization was founded by the Government of India on December 6, 1962, with the aim of providing dedicated service to uphold peace and internal security within society. It operates under the “Uttar Pradesh Home Guards Act of 1963.” Since its establishment, the organization has recruited hundreds of thousands of men and women from diverse backgrounds, equipping them to effectively address any challenging security situations in the country. Currently, the Uttar Pradesh Home Guards Organization comprises a total of 1,151 companies, which include 785 rural and 366 urban units, supported by an authorized strength of 118,348 Home Guards volunteers, among which are 25 women companies and 60 independent women platoons.
Members of the Home Guards Department collaborate closely with the government, district administration, and police forces, making significant contributions to the maintenance of peace and order. Vacancies in Uttar Pradesh Home Guard Recruitment 2025
The vacancies within the district unit will undergo evaluation biannually. The first evaluation will take place on March 31st, followed by the filling of existing vacancies on September 30th. Information regarding the vacancies for the District Commandant will be communicated to the Home Guards Headquarters and the Government.
In the process of assessing these vacancies, positions designated for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes, as well as the distribution of Male and Female Home Guards in urban areas and Male Home Guards in rural settings, will be evaluated separately.
Once the vacancies are identified, the number of vacancies categorized by type, along with the necessary qualifications, should be clearly outlined and advertised at no cost in local newspapers through the District Information Officer. Additionally, details regarding the recruitment date should be widely publicized.
This dissemination of information should extend beyond local newspapers to include notifications to the District Information Officer, Employment Office, Sub-division Officer, District Magistrate, educational institutions, all development block offices, police stations, company units, and tehsils. Notices should also be prominently displayed on the notice boards of relevant offices.
Prior to initiating the recruitment process, all members of the Selection Committee must be informed about the categorized vacancies. It is essential to stay updated on the directives issued by the Government and Home Guards Headquarters concerning vacancies, qualifications, and recruitment procedures.

Age Limitation for UP Home Guard Recruitment 2025
The candidate must be at least 20 years old and not older than 50 years. Income calculations will be conducted upon selection during the semi-annual period, specifically on January 1st of the relevant year, and again upon recruitment in the second semi-annual period.

- The General Commandant of Home Guards in Agra/Allahabad or the relevant district.
- An appointed officer member from the district’s judicial department.
- An appointed police officer member from the district’s senior police administration.
- The district commandant, along with a member/secretary from the Home Guards.
- In districts where urban command posts are established, members will serve as non-regular officers within urban companies during recruitment processes.
In sports, a maximum of 05 points is allocated for proficiency, distributed as follows:
- School/College level – 01 point
- District/University level – 02 points
- Regional/State level – 03 points
- State level – 04 points
- All India/National level – 05 points
Selection Process for UP Home Guard Recruitment 2025
- The final list of candidates will be prepared by the selection board in accordance with the relevant provisions of the trade regulations and will be tailored to meet the requirements of the vacancies. Candidates will be selected based on the priority list of trades.
- The publication of the selection list will occur on the same day, and a copy must be prominently displayed at the Home Guards office, the District Collector’s office, and the Employment Office notice boards.
- It is mandatory for all members associated with the selection list to provide their signatures on the prepared document.
- A copy of the selection list must be provided to the Home Guards headquarters, one to the district command, and another to the district administration. The Home Guards headquarters will ensure that the selection list is uploaded on the department’s website.
